Katelyn Walz

My name is Katelyn Walz. I am currently attending Motlow Community College where i plan on majoring in nursing. In July I decided to take CNA classes to get started in the right direction. I am currently working as a certified nursing assistant in Smithville NHC. I have lived in Smithville, TN with my grandma most of my life. My grandmother is the reason I am so committed to becoming a nurse. She worked as a emergency medical technician for approximately five years. After that she then become a cna and worked as a cna the rest of her life. After I graduate from Motlow, I plan on furthering my education at a graduate school, Tennessee Tech, to obtain my bachelors degree in nursing. I want my future career to become a registered nurse with my bachelors degree and work with cancer. patients. About six years ago, I saw first hand what cancer does to an individual. My grandma was diagnosed with cancer. It really touched my heart when I seen what all kinds of things the nurses did for my grandma. They tried to help her understand and talked to her about the disease. They also had a support program for kids whose family members were diagnosed with cancer. I would enjoy being there with an individual through every step of the process of having cancer and not leaving their side. Making a difference in someones life even if its little is something I absolutely enjoy doing. I believe their is still good people in the world and I want to bee an example of that.
