About
I have come a long way from the painfully shy and reserved freshman who initially could not see himself as a resident adviser because it would involve an enormous amount of interaction with students I knew nothing about. I conquered that fear and not only became a resident adviser of more than thirty students that occupied two on-campus apartment buildings, but I also became Vice-President of an organization known as MALES (Men, Achieving, Leadership, Excellence, and Success). The MALES organization primary goal was to go out to speak to young males within the communities that surrounded my university to show them the positive outcomes and importance of a college education. The other mission of MALES was to promote male retention at my university. My path has not been the easiest, but through my hardships and goals I have set for myself I have become the thoughtful, confident, and respected individual both professionally and personally. I know that these skills will serve me well as I embark on this next academic challenge and career advancement.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
My goal is to pursue a future career as a Chief Information Officer (CIO) at a health system. Over the past few years, I have overcome the shyness in the workplace and it is now a commonplace for me to lead and facilitate meetings. I enjoy brainstorming and solving complex problems. I welcome challenges and enjoy a sense of accomplishment at the end of each day. In a busy public health department or working in the field as a Prevention Contract Monitor, I remain calm, collected, and professional as I bring an optimistic attitude to each situation. I eagerly anticipate beginning my training in health information technology and perfecting the skills I already have to become an enhanced professional.
