Kelsey Quinlan

My name is Kelsey Quinlan and I am a graduate from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I completed my degree in 2013, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an individualized course of study in Gerontology. My dream has always been to work in the 'helping field' in one way or another, and after gaining experience in the area of occupational therapy, I fell in love with the idea of pursuing a career in the field. I am intrigued by the holistic nature of occupational therapy, and how the mind, body and spirit are all addressed in the quest to heal the person in his or her entirety. I recently received my yoga certification with the hope to one day incorporate yoga principles and other holistic modalities into therapy sessions. I also recognize the growing need for elderly care, and my minor in gerontology is an excellent foundation for future study and practice working with this age demographic. I look forward to the journey that will lead me to one day become an occupational therapist, where I can implement my creative ideas and enthusiasm into a challenging but rewarding career.
