About

Ever since I can remember, helping others has been at the front of my ambitions, however, the experiences of my life, some specific people throughout my life, and the chances that I have been provided with have helped drive my passion for nursing. I used to work as home health aide , in the nursing room, it was an experience that I never forgot about it. The way I was around them remind them to take their medicine. the feeling that I make them happy make me happy too. The hurdles and milestones I faced and achieved through my personal journey made me more motivated towards becoming a skilled and caring nurse.
The most important factor that made me pursue nursing has to be watching my grandmother struggle with chronic illness. During my younger years, I would go with her to her medical check ups, and I remember all the nurses that used to attend to her. The impressions she used to leave on me with her kindness, patience during her procedures, and expertise were hard to miss. Nurses tend to offer so much more than just medical assistance, which is something I got to witness, and that is how they change the lives of people, patients, so profoundly. This motivated my interest in the healthcare industry and made me realize that the nursing profession requires a combination of empathy and science. Another important factor that led to this decision is my big sister; she is a nurse too in Morocco; she never gave us any bad feedback about her job; she was always happy to help and give others a chance to stay alive. My last factor about how to decide to be a nurse is when I gave birth to my son. The love and kindness that I received from a nurse was something unexpected because I was new in the country, and I had never been in an American hospital before, so her kindness made me feel that I have family here and I'm not alone when she knew that just my husband and I were in the state. She kept asking about my health and the baby the whole three days I was in the hospital.
My exploration also increased in high school when I started volunteering at a nearby hospital under the order of a paramedic. We used to do a lot of training about CPR.
This experience provided me with the chance to engage with patients of varying demographics and witness the teamwork that goes into delivering healthcare. I was particularly impressed by a nurse named Ms. Rahma, who mentored me. She showed me the importance of being able to think critically, speak articulately, and be sympathetic.
