About
Hi everyone my name is Kimberly Myashia Strickland. I am from a small town located in Mount Vernon, NY. I just graduated from Westchester Community College with my Associates Degree in Liberal Arts Social Science on May 19, 2016. About nine months ago, I lost my mother who was very dear and close to me. She always made sure that I strived for success in school no matter what obstacles were thrown my way. Her death was a challenge to deal with during my final two semesters. God extended his grace to allow me to walk across the stage and until this day I still honor my mom. My mother always said "Everyday is a new beginning." I always like to think about positivity. I believe if you surround yourself with positive people you will get positive results. What you put out therr you will receive. When I graduated high school my dreams were to be on TV one day. I would always sing, dance, and act in talent shows. I have a passion for being on stage. My ultimate dream is to one day star on Broadway!! When I experienced the "college life" I took so many core courses that made me realize what I really wanted to do with my life. College made me express myself even more. Made me open up my eyes to new and higher horizons that I thought I couldn't obtain. Later on in the year 2014, I decided that I wanted to become a news reporter. People always told me that I belong on TV, that I needed to be an actress, Kimberly your voice needs to be heard! This is the time now that I need to follow my dreams because then in actual reality what happens to a dream deferred ?
