About
I am currently a Junior at Grafton High School, located in Yorktown Virginia. I grew up in Smithfield Virginia up until my freshman year of High School, but my family and I decided to move when driving to work and school for an hour just was too much! I grew up raising chickens and riding dirt bikes with my parents and two dogs, and when I was in kindergarten I decided I wanted to start becoming an All Star competitive cheerleader. I've now been a cheerleader for the past 12 years, and it's been one of the best parts of my life. My journey started with not knowing how to even do a cartwheel to competing in Worlds on level 5 not only once but twice. Throughout my childhood cancer has played a huge role into making me into the person I am today. Cancer has affected a huge part of my family, directly affecting my Dad when he was diagnosed in March of 2017, cancer also took away both of my grandfather's lives in my younger years and before I was even born. From pageants to starting my own Relay for Life team at my High School I've had the chance to build awareness and bring hundreds of dollars to the American cancer Society to raise money for research and help patients pay for their hospital bills. Health care providers and the American Cancer Society helped my family and I through some of the hardest times of our lives, they helped us continue to have faith and hope in the darkest of times. That's why I believe it's my job to be the voice to voiceless and keep doing my part in the search to find a cure for cancer. I strongly believe that it is my calling to become a compassionate health care provider, just like the nurses and doctors who helped to keep my dad cancer free. My intended career path is to graduate with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and then continue my education by going to gradates school into becoming a Nurse Practitioner.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I currently want to go into Nursing school. Recently I was accepted into Sentara's Williamsburg Regional Medical center Summer Junior Volunteer Program in 2020. This opportunity will help to support my career goals by furthering my experience in a hospital setting, and also add onto my volunteer hours. Through my senior year I am also planning to take a mentorship course with registered nurses that will also help me gain more experience in a hospital setting.
- Graduate school interests
After graduating with my BSN, I hope to go into the graduate program to obtain my Nurse Practitioner degree. I feel that being in a mid-level role will be great collaborating with other nurses and physicians. I would love to manage a patient's care, both pediatric and adult. Obtaining my Nurse Practitioner degree will be my ultimate career goal. It will reflect my hard work and dedication to become the best nurse I can be.
- Outside the classroom
Since I was about 6 years old I became very interested in flipping and tumbling due to being involved with cheer at a early age. Over the past 12 years I have been able to continude my passion and strenthen my skills continuously learning new skills. Ever since middle school I always loved baking. In 3rd grade a started a baking bussiness baking cupcakes called Sugar Crush, and all money made were all donated to the American Cancer Society. Sugar Crush even had a specific name. Sugar stands for the cupcakes I baked, C stands for finding a cure, R stands for research, U stands for unification because if we don't work together to make adiffernce a difference will never be made, S stands for the over 16 million cancer survivors in the U.S. every year, and finally H stands for healthy choices such as not smoking, excercising, and eating right. I've been trying revive this by using my break from schoool to bake cookies to sell, and donate all the profits made to the American Cancer Society. In total I baked more than 300 cookies, and raised a grand total of $239 for my Relay for Life Team. Due to severity of COVID-19 I was unable to contiue this bussiness, but I am hopeful to start this up again once everything starts to settle down. I am very passionate about the American Cancer Society, and I use my love for baking in order to make a difference in my platform. Another hobby I have is surfing. I recently started last summer in 2019, and got a new long 6'7" longboard for Christmas this in 2019! Another hobby I have is sewing, ever since my grandma taught me how to use a sewing machine. I used this talent to start sewing hospital mask to donate to the health care providers during COVID-19. My goal by the end of this pandemic is to make at least 100 masks to donate.
