Laura Trent

In 2013 I completed my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Louise Herrington School of Nursing, Baylor University. Graduating with honors and having assisted in a nationally published research topic I took a position as the Clinic Coordinator of an opening health care clinic. Watermark Community Church, a Dallas based congregation, and QuestCare Partners, a for profit medical company, teamed up to create a Non-Profit Urgent Care center for those without insurance or with limited income. As Clinic Coordinator I managed volunteers, oversaw all patient care, maintained compliance with HIPPA and OSHA and worked alongside providers to give care to over forty patients a day without expectation of payment. In hopes to pursue a Masters in Nursing in order to become a Nurse Practitioner to expand my scope of practice to serve those with limited access to medical care due to being uninsured or underinsured. I left the clinic in order to expand my knowledge of patient care and currently work in a stroke qualified and trauma certified Emergency Room and have continued to work while pursuing my masters. I currently hold several certificates and licensures in the nursing field including my Texas Board of Nursing license, Trauma Nurse Core Certificate, Pediatric Trauma Nurse Certificate, Acute Care Life Support Certificates for both adults and pediatrics.
