Lauren Ballard

I hope to attend medical school following earning my bachelors of science in biochemistry.

I hope to attend medical school and find an area of specialty that peaks my interest in hopes of helping others based on their health needs following completing school.

My hobbies outside of my studies include a variety of volunteer work. I really enjoy working at animal shelters and nursing homes because it provides me with experience in different settings. I also plan to volunteer in hospitals in the Columbus area during my time at Ohio State to really get a feel for what it will be like to work in the medical field. Aside from volunteering, I am passionate about being active and spending time with new people. Growing up, I played softball nearly year-round and made several lifelong friendships through doing so. This taught me a variety of social skills, as well as what it means to be a leader and work as a team. I enjoy meeting new people and attending social events when I have some free time.
