About
Hi! My name is Lauren Valentine and I am currently a sophomore at Boston College. I'm studying biology and also have strong interests in chemistry, psychology and mathematics. I grew up in the small, rural town of Bethany, Connecticut. I had four great years at my high school, which was a prep school called Choate Rosemary Hall. Although it's mainly a boarding school, I was a commuter student because I lived close enough to do so. With a population of less than 5,000 residents in my town, I was eager to move away and attend a school that was close to a big city. I have now fallen in love with both Boston College and the city of Boston, and am extremely happy to call these places my home.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I know that I want to work in a hospital setting in the future, but am unsure of what I want to specialize in. I'm hoping that it will become clear to me once I take more specific science-based classes and get some shadowing experiences under my belt.
- Outside the classroom
When I'm not studying, I spent a lot of time at the gym working out or participating in intramural sports with teams that my friends and I have created. I love doing volunteer work and helping out the community in any way that I can. I also have an on-campus job where I tutor General Chemistry students one-on-one for ten hours per week. Additionally, I am a very devoted, practicing Catholic and attend mass weekly. I have two siblings (and two dogs!) so when I'm home, I spend most of my time with them.
