About

Passionate Behavioral Health Advocate | Aspiring Clinical Psychologist | Mother of Three | Author & Creative Artist

With a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Health Science (emphasis in Substance Abuse Counseling) and a deep-rooted passion for mental health advocacy, I am committed to empowering individuals on their journey to healing and recovery. My experiences in behavioral health, community service, and prison ministry have shaped my dedication to supporting vulnerable populations, particularly those affected by addiction, trauma, and co-occurring disorders.
Currently working as a Programs Assistant for Custody Support Services at the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department, I engage with justice-involved individuals, helping them access resources that foster rehabilitation and positive change. My goal is to further my education by pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on addictions, ultimately becoming a licensed addiction counselor.

As a mother of three, I have personally navigated the challenges of supporting my children's mental health, deepening my empathy and understanding of the struggles many families face. My personal experiences as a mother and a professional fuel my passion to advocate for mental health awareness and positive change.

Additionally, I am the author and creative artist behind Spiritual Canva, a project that reflects my commitment to inspiring others through spiritual reflection and artistic expression. I aspire to become a published author, sharing messages of hope and healing through creative works that encourage others on their journeys.

Through my involvement in church ministry, small groups, and professional development workshops, I strive to uplift and inspire others to overcome adversity and achieve their full potential, personally and spiritually.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I plan to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on addictions to become a licensed professional specializing in addiction treatment. During my time as a Ph.D. student, I aim to contribute to research on addiction, exploring effective treatment methods, the impact of trauma on substance use, and strategies for long-term recovery. My goal is to help advance the field by providing insights that improve clinical interventions and support individuals struggling with addiction.

I am also interested in case management, where I would provide support, resources, and advocacy for individuals in need. While my current work as a Programs Assistant allows me to contribute to behavioral health efforts, I also aim to explore opportunities as a Correctional Mental Health Specialist, expanding my role within the criminal justice system to support incarcerated individuals struggling with addiction or mental health issues.

Aside from my career aspirations, a personal goal of mine is to become a published author, sharing messages of hope, faith, and healing. Through my creative work, I hope to inspire others by using artistic expression and potentially expanding into selling canvases featuring spiritual poetry.

Graduate school interests

My graduate school interest is pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on addictions at Walden University. I am particularly focused on researching addiction treatment, the impact of trauma on substance use, and strategies for long-term recovery.

My goal is to advance the field by contributing to evidence-based interventions that support individuals struggling with addiction. Through my doctoral studies, I aim to develop innovative treatment approaches, advocate for mental health policy improvements, and work toward becoming a licensed professional specializing in addiction treatment.
