About

I am a non-traditional college student. After raising my four children, I decided to get my degree. It's never too late to invest in your own education. Goals and interests

Career goal

I currently own a photography business and still love photographing memories for my clients. My next journey is not clear to me. I am keeping my mindset open and waiting for it to be clear what I should do with the next career in my life.

Outside the classroom

I enjoy reading, crafts (crochet and painting), nature walks, camping, time with my dogs, and family time. This summer during Covid, I learned to play golf. I enjoy photographing nature, animals and people. I love movies and theater.

Volunteering

  • I am an active volunteer with animal rescues. Previously with Big Red Rescue of the Midlands, now active with Nebraska Animal Loving Advocates (NALA). I help with sick and behavioral issue dogs and rehabilitate them to live in a loving family setting. Following them through from foster to adoption, I cerifiy that the animals forever home is safe, loving, and permanent.

  • Helping with rescue missions, I have been active with the rescuing of dogs through Big Red Rescue of the Midlands. Helping to save dogs in hoarding situations, with a team I would go and capture dogs in farmlands that have out grown the area. As well as help foster from other states that have broken up puppy mill situations. Getting the animals proper vet care, loving foster homes and a forever home.

  • Teaching Sunday school and helping with office help, I have volunteered with my church since my membership with them. Teaching children from 3-year-olds, 7th graders, and confirmation classes, I also learn from them. I have volunteered in teaching Vacation Bible School in the summer, helping neighborhood children of the church about the love of God. I have helped organize membership information, create videos and slide shows, photograph new members and events, organize mailings and more for our church office. As well I have been an active member of our church for 24 years.
