About
I have been pursing my Bachelor's Degree since the 1990s while working full time as an administrative assistant in my school district's special education department. At that time my concentration was in psychology, an interest I held for my entire life. After a break from my college pursuits for a few years, I decided to continue my degree by switching my concentration to library science after transferring to a part time job in the library of an elementary school within the same school district I have been employed with. I immediately realized how much I enjoyed that setting and, coupled with my love of reading, enjoyed interacting with students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. That convinced me to change my path. I hope to graduate in May 2017 and then seek full time employment in or around the Orlando, Florida, area, where my husband and I plan on residing. I have a background of 30 years of office secretarial experience and almost 5 years of working in a library setting. With these set of skills, I feel as though I could benefit any library, whether it's dealing with customer service, maintaining a computer database, or helping to run a library. I would also consider it a privilege if I were to be considered for an administrative assistant position for any corporate or academic setting.
