About

My name is Linlin Wang, a junior student attending the University of Houston (UH) and majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I moved to the United States in 2010 on a K2 visa. By the way, I am a Chinese girl who can speak both Mandarin and Cantonese. The Fall of 2015 was my first semester at UH. I just had transferred from California State University Fullerton. I chose an engineering major because it gives me a great opportunity to expand scientific knowledge in my life and use it to serve the community. I like to do math and science problems. I enjoy every moment when I think about the challenge problems although they may make me think for a couple of hours, sometimes even for a whole day. I do feel frustrated sometimes when I cannot figure out the problem, but this is fine because I can learn something new again. I also enjoy the time when I discuss some specific problems with my friends and teachers. They help me and I help them. I believe that studying engineering will lead to a better future than any other major because more opportunities are available when I look for a job. My goal is to earn a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. If possible later in my life, I want to keep learning and earn Master or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
