Lisa Wallace

I am pursuing a Master of Education in Counselor Education at The University of Texas (UT) at Austin's College of Education, specializing in addressing trauma from gender-based, sexual, and intimate partner violence (IPV). As a pre-graduate student counselor at Capital Area Counseling, I am completing my practicum and internship hours under LPC-S supervision while providing accessible counseling services to Austin's most vulnerable populations through partnerships with nonprofits and state agencies. I also currently serve as a Graduate Researcher in the Innovations in Global Public Health (iPGH) Lab at UT Austin, where I am developing a comprehensive global research database for intimate partner violence intervention studies. As first author, I am leading another systematic review and meta-analysis evaluating IPV interventions where physical violence is involved, and I am awaiting funding to pilot specialized interpersonal psychotherapy for couples (IPT-C) experiencing situational IPV.
