About

I am an undergraduate student in my final semester and looking forward to pursuing a graduate degree as well. My academic interests lie in international relations and diplomacy which is what I wish to take up for my Master's.
My initial interests lied in marginalized literary histories and social conflicts, which was why I decided to pursue a Bachelor's in English Honours with Sociology as an Elective. A subject that helped me hone my research and comprehensive skills for writing and analysing texts. Being acquainted with the genre of historical fiction, especially the texts- Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad and The Shadow Lines by Amitav Ghosh; I was able to gain a deeper insight into the more insidious effects of the subjugation, marginalization, political ignorance, and advocated hatred that communities are often subject to under the garb of legal policies and proceedings. Further encouraging me to learn about the socio-political and economic interactions between nations that structure the mechanisms of global ethics, human rights, economic stabilization, and security.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I wish to work in the social justice department of a national or international institution, undertaking research on conflicts that had their roots in ethnicity, land dispute, religion, and development disparity among other reasons. Further reading into their resolutions and any suspension of hostilities if the conflict has remained cold yet persisting. The knowledge will help me be an able advisory or consultant on such pressing issues.

Graduate school interests

The course I wish to take up is International Relations and the United Kingdom was naturally my first choice to undertake my studies in. With its close proximity to the European Union and its cultural diversity, at least in terms of the thriving student body with an increased number of international students coming in every year; it would give me the necessary exposure to different perceptions and experiences to widen my horizons and gain a holistic insight into pertaining issues.
To be capable of arguing for resolutions on a global stage, it would be imperative for me to learn about the state machinery on different individual, organizational, and international levels. If selected, the course can help me carve out a structured analysis of such longstanding disputes that have risen from incongruous impositions and conflicting arguments between communities that have been ethnically, politically, and even environmentally displaced; my own included.

Outside the classroom

My hobbies include:- reading, drawing, singing, and as of now, I am learning how to play a bit of the guitar.
