About
Last summer was an extremely extraordinary time in my life. It marked the beginning of my love for studying IT; an interest that I absorbed from my grandmother back when I resided in Central African Republic. I was selected by District Intern to attend and participate in a remarkable opportunity at Microsoft. This was my first quality filled exposure to designing games using a computer. Initially, I experienced some difficulty with creating each level of the game, as expected since I was just learning. However, after more studying and practicing how to design various figures and puzzles using the computer program languages as well as Photoshop, I successfully completed and designed a game with my team and was able to present it to an audience of Microsoft developers. This past summer's experience served as a primary motivator of what I would love to pursue in college and the years following my college graduation. While reading “Glass Houses” by Joel Brenner, I was exposed to valuable information as he explored in detail of the many Cyber attacks that have been launched against the U.S. from several countries. The concerns and logic that he presents throughout the book has impacted my desire to become an IT developer. My goal would be to contribute to the efforts in place that aid in preventing attacks from hackers, and to provide efficient security for my community and those that make up the world. I have taken it upon myself to learn something new every day; specifically, I focus on IT or anything related to the field. Additionally, I have learned to share the knowledge that I am gaining with others, and to use this knowledge to create a clear vision for where I want to go in life. I have other areas of focus that I continue to grow as well, for example after successfully completing my post-secondary education and becoming certified as an IT developer, I want to be a mentor for those who have an interest in studying IT. In order to prepare for this endeavor, I have looked for ways to better my leadership skills.
