About

My name is Makaih Dandy-Greene, and I am a rising senior at St. Charles High School in Waldorf, Maryland, in the Class of 2027. I am a student-athlete who is passionate about academics, baseball, technology, and building a successful future.

Academically, I take pride in challenging myself and maintaining a strong academic record. I currently have a 4.40 weighted GPA and a 3.91 unweighted GPA and rank in the top 10% of my class. I have taken AP and Honors courses, including AP Computer Science Principles and AP Environmental Science. My interest in technology has grown throughout high school, especially in computer science and cybersecurity. I have participated in cybersecurity programs through Bowie State University and the College of Southern Maryland, which have helped me understand that technology is not just something I enjoy—it is something I want to pursue as a career.

Baseball is another major part of who I am. I play primarily in the middle infield and have experience at shortstop and in the outfield. I am a right-handed player, and I continue to work on becoming a stronger, smarter, and more complete baseball player. I have also had the opportunity to serve as a team captain, which has taught me that leadership is about setting an example, being accountable, encouraging teammates, and doing the work even when nobody is watching.

My goal is to play college baseball while earning a degree in computer science, information technology, or cybersecurity. I want to find a college where I can challenge myself academically, compete at a high level, continue developing as a baseball player, and prepare for my future career. At the same time, I have an ambitious goal of continuing to pursue baseball for as long as my ability and opportunities allow, including the possibility of playing professionally.

I believe what separates me from others is my willingness to keep learning and improving. I know I still have a lot to accomplish, both academically and athletically, and I am not afraid of putting in the work required to reach my goals. I understand that success does not happen overnight. It comes from consistency, discipline, preparation, and the ability to learn from setbacks.

Outside of school and baseball, I have gained work experience and participated in community service, including working with the Southern Maryland Blue at Regency Stadium and volunteering with Wreaths Across America. These experiences have helped me develop responsibility, teamwork, communication, and an understanding of the importance of giving back.

I am proud of how far I have come, but I am even more excited about where I am going. My goal is to continue growing as a student, athlete, leader, and person while taking advantage of every opportunity placed in front of me. I am ready to work, compete, learn, and make the most of the next chapter of my journey.
