Maren Lausell | Honor Society®

About

Hi! I am Maren Lausell and I am a Freshman at FSU. I am pursuing a degree in Meteorology and can't wait to learn all I can about atmospheric science.

honors society

I was a part of National Honor Society all throughout high school. We offered tutoring programs and participated in service projects.

Career goal: I hope to work for either NOAA or the National Weather Service, conducting research on weather patterns.
Outside the classroom: I am a very creative person. I love to read, craft, journal, and listen to music. Crafting is probably my favorite hobby. I love to paint things for loved ones, make beaded bracelets, scrapbook, etc. Ever since I was little, I loved to read. I think it has really sharpened my english skills and made me appreciate reading/writing more.

employee

I worked at a boutique called East of These in Lakeland Florida. I often rotated between multiple roles, working in production while also checking people out.

I went to Santa Fe Catholic High School, so we had to get 100 service hours in order to graduate. The school offered many opportunities to get these hours, such as volunteering to work sporting events or dinners. We also did a lot of volunteer work for the Peace River organization. We often made signs and put them around the school encouraging kids to help volunteer there. We also did many projects to help VISTE. We would make cards on Valentine's day for veterans and decorate bags for thanksgiving meals going to the homeless. The owner of VISTE was my neighbor, so my family personally was very involved in it. We baked bread around the holidays and snapped green beans, also coloring thanksgiving place mats.
