About
Mary is a rising fourth-year undergraduate studying Medical Laboratory Science and NEXT Apprenticeship at the University of Cincinnati's College of Allied Health Sciences. Six years ago, she received a diagnosis of acute gluten and dairy sensitivities, as well as a few other chronic illnesses. Having completed an independent study on the effects of food intolerances and their genetic locations in plant species, she aspires to continue such research, ultimately entering the field of immunology as an advocate for underrepresented diseases. Outside of her career and extracurricular endeavors, she is the founder of the Glossop Family Educational Foundation (GFEF), which partners with Bold.org to create grants and scholarships for students who have struggled with medical issues or are from low-income backgrounds. Eventually, she aspires to expand more into the non-profit realm and provide food sensitivity testing and education where these services are not traditionally available.
So far, Mary has been recognized for her advocacy efforts by the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the Wells Fargo Scholarship Program for People With Disabilities. She also serves on the Ohio Board of Directors for the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science.
With around three years of laboratory teaching experience for over 500 students and 15 courses, she is always looking for different ways to learn, improve, and uplift and educate those around her. If you are interested in connecting or learning more about her background, she can be reached at [email protected].
