About

I took two years to follow a dream I have had for many years, my dream was to teach scuba diving. I spent those two years working full time and educating myself in the diving community technique and after about a year and a half I had the money and certifications to begin this journey. I got a job offer in the Florida Keys to work for the Boy Scouts of America where I spent the summer teaching scuba diving and leading tours. This experience has contributed to my decision to obtain a teaching degree. I am a hard working individual, I am dedicated to self-improvement and plan on using what ever I learn to help improve others and the community. I believe that optimism is one of the more powerful tools that one can use. I believe that hard work and self application can overcome almost any obstacle and hope to instill these values into my future students.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I wish to be a physical educator in a public school as well as coach. I believe this profession has a great affect on our youth both physically and mentally. We can help the youth of this country grow physically by facilitating them to find inspiration in life whether it is a traditional sport or another form of activity such as outdoor activities. This career can also have a major effect on social development by teaching students how to work together and to know how to learn from a loss.

I also have a great passion for biology. I will minor in biology and get an endorsement upon graduation. Science is a powerful tool and knowing the biology of an organism opens the door for understanding of a different way of thinking. By teaching youth about biology at a young age we may very well begin a new advancement in biology, health, or even science as a whole.

In both biology and physical education there is more than just content. While teaching you can assist students in finding a new perspective and a new thought process that can be applied to many aspects of life.

Graduate school interests

I do plan on continuing my education, I have not entirely decided what courses or degree I will choose. I will most likely further into the physical education field of study and may also continue education deeper into biology.
I have interest in getting my administration certificate in the future as well.

Outside the classroom

My hobbies center mainly around the outdoors. My most passionate hobbies are scuba diving, backpacking/camping, soccer, kayaking, and hiking.

I also enjoy fishing, rock climbing, guitar, and more.
