Matthew Lang

I learned in college that I truly have a passion for mentoring and teaching. This was evident when I was teaching and when I was watching out for my subordinates in the military. I am hoping to teach Biology and possibly history. I find I have a penchant for both. I really appreciate certain pitfalls students have in the classroom and hope to not only make the class as engaging as possible but also use my experience to recognize where people might struggle. The tools I have been using in my degree have allowed me for a wide variety of methods for both classroom management, scaffolding, and activity design.

I joined a local cohort group. It not only allows me to meet with peers in the same field but gives me people to talk to in my emerging profession. It is so interesting hearing the many different backgrounds people have and how it impacts their teaching style.

I enjoy reading historical texts or listening to the Killing Lincoln/Kennedy/Patton/Reagan series. I also collect old americana comics and music.
