About

y name is Meghan Saragusa. My journey as a student has held a purpose in seeking a niche. Where do I naturally and empathetically make a difference and hold a purpose? At twenty-seven, I am again a student. I am an pursuing a dual masters degree in both clinical mental health counseling and school counseling. I enjoy gaining knowledge about how to care for others' well-being, as well as my own. I enjoy learning about all the complicated phenomenon that occurs throughout humanity. I first knew, that helping others, if it were a degree, was where I was meant to be in practice. After many successes (as well as plenty of mistakes), I realized I was talented at talking about vulnerable topics. I realized I had valuable lived-in experiences. I realized, I also dared to share everything about my story.
I am still learning what it takes to gain trust from a stranger. I enjoy welcoming those taking the first steps to seek help themselves. I thrive on resilience, motivating others' into this "mindfulness market". By providing a safe space and encompassing all of who others' are and wish to share, I am faced with a privilege of self-discovery in the process. By encompassing that I myself am of a vulnerable population, I am serving a purpose. I am forcing myself into a stigmatized and complicated population. I hope this ePortfolio represents a positive educational movement into one day eliminating mental health stigma.
