Mercy Alvarez

Hi, my name is Mercy Alvarez. I'm currently going to Mercy College and in May 2018 I will be getting my Bachelor in Health Science/PA. Hoping that when I'm done I enter the air force and finish my school, meaning getting my Masters degree and Doctorate and work in the medical field. I'm from a very poor island/town in Guatemala City called Livingston, Izabal. My island is full of life and happy people is a tourist place. The main problem there is that we don't have a hospital or a very good health place that can take care of the sick people. If people needs medical assistance they have to pass through the ocean which is a 30 min right in a boat just to get to a so call an okay hospital, but is they want to go to a better hospital they have to go through bus 5 to 6 hours drive to the big city. Not everybody down in my little island has the money they need to go to the doctors. So my dream is to build a hospital in my little island Livingston. With this hospital, I will save a lot of people life in there and also I will help them out. I want to build that hospital and not charge them because I know life down in my little island is difficult maybe have a donation box so they can donate whatever they can donate. I also need people that would love to go there and work willingly.
