About
I am currently attending Medical University of the Americas, completing my Doctorate in Medicine. I have completed my Master's in Public Health at Walden University. Over the last six years, my primary experience has been in the laboratory as a NYS licensed Clinical Lab Technician, working in areas such as Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Molecular Biology with utilization of biotechnological and molecular techniques, with emphasis in microscopy. I currently hold a certification in training as a Clinical Genetics Molecular Biologist Trainee License for the State of California, as well as, a New York State Clinical Laboratory Technician.
During my academic career, both in undergraduate and graduate studies, I continuously ensured that I built my knowledge and experience, through volunteering at hospitals, involving direct patient medical care, structuring my own research program, ameliorating the health outcomes and programs aiding the homeless population, research on the public health and medical aspects of breast cancer. I interned at ICON Laboratories in the area of Molecular Pathology. I also have experience in phlebotomy and reading heart rhythms. My leadership skills were honed through involvement in American Medical Student Association and the Student Government Association.
My passion for medicine and laboratory science has earned me several honors awards, including, the Deans Award for Highest GPA in Basic Medical Sciences and ASCP Award for Academic Excellence and Leadership in the field of Pathology.
My future goals are to complete my Doctorate in Medicine, and specialize in Molecular Oncology and Clinical Pathology, with hopes of obtaining a fellowship in Hematopathology. I am married with three children, and enjoy fashion designing and music.
