About

My education career started when I was a high school mentor in a preschool classroom initially. I always knew I had a passion for teaching. In 2015 I graduated from Kingman academy high school and immediately started attending Mohave community college, not knowing I was on the way to a wrong career for myself. I knew I loved working with children and teaching, but I did not think it was a financially suitable career. Moving forward to 2017, I was still going to college and unhappy with my career path and my current job as a local restaurant waitress. One day the former teacher from when I was a mentor walked into my restaurant and told me that there was a job opening at the school that I once mentored for. I applied for the position as a paraprofessional, and they hired me within the month. I worked in the special education classroom in the mornings and the preschool classroom in the afternoons. I came to find that I loved this job and my students even more, and no career would better be suited for myself. In the summer of 2018, I enrolled at Grand Canyon University, and that is where I am still attending until May 2021. At the end of this journey, I will have my dual bachelor's degree in special education and early childhood education. I will finally have the opportunity to love my career.
