Goals and interests

Career goal

When I think about the question, "Who has made the most impact on your life?" The first people that come to mind are my professors and coaches. These are the individuals who believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. They sparked a drive within me and have truly served as mentors, directly shaping the path I am on today. Because of their influence, I am now pursuing a career as an educational professor.

I am honored to be featured in Saddleback College’s One Book, One College e-Gallery. My research paper, "History of American Demand for Harmful Chemicals," explores how the FDA’s failure to regulate toxic substances in food disproportionately impacts low-income and minority communities.
I plan to pursue research, participate in a mentorship program, and gain experience through an internship. I want to challenge myself, grow beyond my comfort zone, and passionately pursue my education.

Graduate school interests

After earning my bachelor’s, I plan to pursue my master’s in Communications and gain experience in the field through publications, research projects, and academic mentorship.

Outside the classroom

I cheered for three years at Saddleback College, serving as Team Captain during my third year. Our program focused on game day, school spirit, and community involvement, providing me with valuable leadership experience. Most recently, I spent the 2024–2025 season on OC All Stars' International Open Level 7 all-girl team, "Neon." This experience has pushed me both mentally and physically, teaching me resilience, discipline, and teamwork.

These passions, along with my commitment to leadership and service, have helped me stay motivated and balanced in my academic journey. I believe the Honors Program will provide me with the ideal environment to continue growing, both personally and academically, allowing me to contribute meaningfully to the campus community while pursuing excellence in my studies.

Driven by a passion for health and fitness, I hold certifications in Personal Training, as well as CPR & AED through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA). During the off-season at Saddleback College, I competed in Hyrox, a high-intensity fitness competition that describes itself as "The World Series of Fitness Racing".

  • Gymnastics Coach

at 16 years of age my first job was as a Gymnastics Coach at Wildfire Gymnastics, where I taught foundational skills to young children and worked to inspire a love for the sport. I fostered strong relationships with families and tailored my coaching style to meet each athlete’s unique learning needs. This role helped me grow in leadership, communication, and patience. I strive to be the kind of mentor I once looked up to, someone who encourages growth both inside and outside the gym. Cheerleaders and professors have had a lasting impact on my life, and I hope to give back and make a difference in the community with the same passion and support my coaches and professors showed me.

  • This summer, I returned to El Salvador on the same mission trip, visiting both familiar and new orphanages. We continued to provide donations and spent time with special needs children. We fed the homeless every night, as well as spent time with some young mothers and their newborn babies, who were eternally grateful, as they rarely have access to childcare. To them, this interaction meant more than words could express. These mission trips have shaped me into the person I am today. From a young age, I learned that material things have minimal to no significance, as they are replaceable. What truly matters is having loved ones, good health, a roof over your head, and food to eat, which brings me contentment.

  • As Class President of the National Charity League, Inc, I demonstrated strong leadership by leading class meetings, creating agendas, and supervising fellow participants. I played an integral role in organizing special events and programs that supported disadvantaged individuals and military families. Additionally, I coordinated volunteer efforts, including providing childcare at a women’s shelter and making blankets for children in hospitals, all while ensuring my team completed a minimum of 30 volunteer hours annually. These leadership and service experiences have been instrumental in shaping my values and work ethic as I strive to make a positive impact in my community.

  • At 11 years of age I went on a mission trip to Mexico with my mom, brother, and best friend. We helped run a camp for college students at Azusa Pacific University and visited disadvantaged areas, where we gave donations and spent time with local children.

  • At nine years of age, I went on a mission trip to El Salvador to host a quinceañera for the girls at the orphanages. Each day we visited many orphanages, spending time with the children, playing games, distributing dresses, donations, food, and necessities. On the day of the quinceañera we got to do the girls hair, makeup, nails, and eyebrows.
