About

My name is Monique Adams I am a highly motivated individual with an impeccable work ethic. I want to give you a little insight into my life that will explain where I’m at in life right now and how pursuing to further my education is important to me. I have a plan where I’m setting certain goals and certain time frames for me to reach my goals and it has been efficient. For the last two years I have been working two jobs and attending school. I haven’t had allot of help getting to where I am today but that is my motivation to keep me moving towards my next goal. I received my Associates degree in criminal justice in May of 2015 and plan on continuing my education at Metropolitan State University. Moving forward I currently work at a middle school where I see the younger generation taking the wrongs turn and it breaks my heart. After watching thirteen year old kids get pregnant and having her think it’s okay. I found my passion to want to help guide children and teach them the value in respect and self-value. Before I started working for District 279 I mentored there for one year then got hired on. The fact that I was helping just that one student meant allot and I know I can do the same with other students. Sense I have been working I have accomplished that. I have watched kids start off mean and nasty and just by listen and letting them know that there is someone here that cares about them. I teach my students how it is important to start building a positive foundation for their self. How this would ties into my degree is by furthering my education I can get a job working with Juveniles and help them realize there are other ways to go through life. I know this is the right thing for me because there’s nothing like helping someone realize their own potential especially when you’re dealing with youth. The thing I find myself thinking about often is that all I had to rely on was myself and allot of the children I deal with don’t have good relationships with their family.
