Mutiat Mabifa

My name is Mutiat Mabifa, and I am 30 years old. I am a mother of 2 beautiful kids, a 3 year old daughter and 4 months old son. I am currently attending Joliet Junior College completing a LPN to RN transition program. My journey in Nursing has been long, very long and hard but i am grateful i am still standing tall. I graduated High school in 2003 with Honors, Got an Associates in Arts from College of Lake County with honors. I attended CLC to pursue my Nursing degree but the admission criteria made it impossible for me to get in; so i just continued to take 2 classes at a time until i have more than enough credits to graduate. During this time, i worked as a CNA for 9 years, a position i truly enjoyed.Then i applied to the City colleges of Chicago in 2012, where i got my LPN degree with honors in 2013.I had my daughter during the program but was still able to finish and graduate with my peers. Thankfully, i am now currently in my second to the last semester of the LPN to RN transition program, and with child number 2, who was born during summer break. i love Nursing, and the idea of just helping others.
