Naomi Folkestad

My name is Naomi Folkestad, I am honored to be selected as a member of the Honor Society. I am 16 years old and graduating a year early. I don't know if I am a incredibly smart or some sort of gifted student, but I do know that I am a incredibly hard worker. I transferred schools a week the start of my sophomore year so that I would be able to take nine credits in order to graduate early. I work part time every winter in order to pay for my own clothes, activities, sports and many of my own toiletries. I also work full time every summer so that I can take less hours during the school year. I am also a older sister to three siblings, and a younger sister to one. Being a older sister has taught me more leadership and life skills than I believe could have been achieved through a course or intensive. Since I was 12 I have volunteered with my church group, our projects range anywhere from setting up dinners for the elderly in our community to helping move in new families and bringing Holiday gifts, food and décor to those who need it.
