About
Yá’át’ééh Shidine’é. Nizhoni Natahni Alexis Major ‘ółta’í nishłį. I graduated from Monument Valley High School in Kayenta, Arizona as part of the class of 2020. I’ve chosen to study in honors/advanced courses ever since they were recommended to me during 8th grade year of middle school. Freshman year of high school in advanced classes had opened up new opportunities for me and encouraged me to strive to be part of the top ten of my class. My main focus was on my academics for the majority of my high school career, but I didn’t neglect my desire to also do extracurricular activities. I’ve jumped into some after school clubs and activities to broaden my interest and get out of my comfort zone. That was when I discovered the National Honors Society, Distributive Education Clubs of America and created my own club to reach out to non-athletic students that still wanted to be physically involved (MVHS Dance Club). I’ve joined some other clubs for a short time such as the MVHS Anime club and after-school band until I needed to cut them to prioritize the clubs I was certain to participate in and my studies. During the summers I would go to a University/ College readiness program called Nizhoni Academy at Northern Arizona University. Nizhoni Academy is very similar to the likes of Upper Bound, but it also includes a class called Service Matters which students did community service and environmental work. I graduated 3rd of my class of 135 students and am now working towards earning my Associates Degree at a community college before attending university.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
My intended job path is to work for a masters degree to be able to work at a big animation studio as an animator or Art Director to help create films and bring important messages, stories, and inspiration to the world through this form of entertainment.
- Graduate school interests
After earning an Associates Degree and Bachelor's Degree, I want to enroll at Savannah College of Art and Design to earn my masters.
- Outside the classroom
A hobby of mine that I would like to make into my career is my talent as an artist. I love to draw and create designs. I learned about the wonders of marketing and graphic design when I signed up in taking graphic design classes, online courses and DECA workshops. I also like to animate skits and short stories. I got into animation after being inspired by Pixar’s sparkshorts and animated youtubers.
Another hobby of mine is to perform. I’m not entirely sure of myself onstage when I perform since I don’t have too much experience in theater. However, I do like to play either one of my instruments (that being my keyboard, violin, or flute) or doing a dance routine with my club. I watch choreography and play Just Dance games with my club to adapt some of the move into our choreography to perform in school pep-rallies.
