About
I am currently a freshman at UC Merced with a major in Psychology. I come from a Russian family, with both of my parents perusing mathematical careers. This always made me different from my parents, and I am more interested in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to help people, and psychology and clinical therapy has always seemed like my calling. I spent many of my elementary and middle school years participating in various extra curricular activities, making me a well rounded individual.
Goals and interests
- Career goal
I am currently enrolled in UC Merced, in the School of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Arts. My major is Psychology. After I finish my studies, I wish to become a clinical therapist. I would either work in a mental health clinic or take on personal clients.
- Graduate school interests
After completing my bachelor's in Psychology, I plan to get a doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
- Outside the classroom
I am a creative person, so I enjoy many creative outlets, such as digital art creative writing. In the past, I also played the piano and flute. I've also taken kung fu classes at the USA Kung Fu Studio in Castro Valley for eight years, making me proficient in martial arts. Likewise, I'm also an athletic person, and enjoy going for runs and bike rides.
Volunteering
-
I volunteered at the Hayward Animal Shelter. My role was taking care of the small animals, such as rabbits and guinea pigs, by cleaning their enclosures and providing them with food and water.
