Parth Vaidya

I am a motivated master's student in the field of Materials Science and Engineering at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY. Fascinated by the world of polymers and how polymers shape today's world, I aim to provide major contributions to this field. My passion is to invent functional materials in the laboratory that provide efficient consumer grade applications.
Since my childhood days, I have grown up witnessing my father’s entrepreneurial venture in recycling of engineering polymers. As a result of his profession, I had few opportunities to visit various trade shows which enhanced my determination to pursue my interests in polymers as a sub-field of Materials Science. During my undergraduate program in India, I strived to excel in this field, as a result of which I was able to co-author four research publications in reputed international journals. Likewise, I also tried to strike the delicate balance of academics with extra-curricular activities and participated in numerous conferences and workshops. I was also a leader in various clubs including Rotaract club, a non-profit organization performing social service.
During the graduate program at Cornell, I have a chance of fulfilling my ambition. Through research on application of polymer membranes in ultrafiltration, my research project aims at providing products that are superior than those currently available in the consumer market and directly making major contributions to my field of interest. I am consistently and steadily moving towards realizing my dream.
