Goals and interests

Graduate school interests

My research interests are related to my current work experience managing over 2,500,000 square feet of office, warehouse, educational, and other miscellaneous facilities. I am primarily interested in facilities operations and maintenance, which is the bread and butter of facilities management. I am also interested in project management with an emphasis on key performance indicators, milestone scheduling, and delivering high quality projects. My recent energy management and project management classes have sparked a new interest in the benefits of third party commissioning and the corresponding retro-commissioning of building systems. I also have an interest in facilities management technology after implementing a capital needs analysis and computerized maintenance management system software at the Polynesian Cultural Center in 2005. Lastly, I am interested in the human side of management such as team building, organizational behavior, and leadership principles.
