About

I have always been fascinated with entertainment, comedy, and the artistic pursuits behind them to tell a story-- I have made this my goal in life. During my time in high school, I was a part of many clubs (such as Book Club, Drama Club, and National Honor Society) and I spent much of my time with the marching band (as a clarinet player and colorguard member) and as an actress on stage. With a passion for learning and academics, I maintained a spot within Wellington High School's High Honor Roll and eventually graduated as Class Valediction in 2015. I enrolled in Shawnee State University in the fall of 2015 for its Game Design and Simulation Arts degree program. As only a freshman, I am excited to learn as much as I can and challenge my skills so that I will become the animator I am working hard to become.

Goals and interests

Career goal

Upon my graduation from Shawnee State University, I intend to pursue a career in digital animation in film or game design. Whether this is as a storyboard, conceptual, or texture artist, or perhaps working with lighting and effects, I will be part of an art team to produce content for larger projects.

Graduate school interests

My only graduate school interest includes possibly entering the ACCAD program at Ohio State University for its high quality course in digital animation or art and technology. While I am not sure at the current time if I will pursue this program, I am keeping it in mind if I feel I would benefit from what it has to offer. It may be possible that I will attend courses after some years working within my intended industry.

Outside the classroom

I have several interests and hobbies that span quite a few areas. I am primarily a enthusiast for film and entertainment, from the silent era and vaudeville to today's motion pictures and animated features. I enjoy learning and practicing the skills, equipment, and processing it takes to create content, as well. In the past, I was both a writer and actress in a local cable public access show, creating skits along with other team members. Acting, both on screen and on stage in musicals and plays, is a joy to do. As my major suggest, I enjoy drawing and making crafts, as well as utilizing computer software. Writing is another creative venture I delve into now and again, and I have written several notebooks full of story ideas over the years. Making scarves and other knitted or crocheted trinkets (however simple they may be) are also my specialty. I love to dance-- especially soft shoe or tap, although I have done jazz, ballet, and pointe over the years. I am passionate for video games and their ability for immersion into far away lands, but I am greatly fond of hiking or biking outdoors in the forest or even reading a good book or two. But most of all I constantly enjoy learning and trying new things, getting dirty, and making something new with my own hands.
