Ravyn Thompson

My name is Ravyn Thompson. I am from Louisville Kentucky and I major in pre medicine biology, CMG track and minor in neuroscience at Northern Kentucky University. I was born and raised in Louisville, and ever since I can remember I've wanted to be a doctor. With my degree I plan to move on to medical school and focus on becoming an anesthesiologist. I decided on this career when I was about 11 or 12. I found an interest in surgery but actually being a surgeon was not something I was looking to do. I just wanted to be in the operating room. I searched " people who are in the operating room during surgery". A couple titles popped up but, anesthesiologist stood out to me. I didn't know what it was, but I looked it up and the job description sounded great. As I got older I learned about more things that anesthesiologists do like spinal taps, preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care. Taking care of people and making people feel comfortable is something I pride myself in. With that being said this career is something that I would love doing. I will work as hard as possible to accomplish my goals. I am very glad to be apart of this society and I hope to accomplish a lot more in the future.
