- Career goal
I intend to continue my education by completing an Associate's Degree in Medical Billing and Coding. Changing the course of my work life is one of the most top priorities I have now. Entering the medical field is a life long commitment and I plan to learn as much as I can so that some day I may make a difference in not only my community but the world around us.
- Graduate school interests
Thinking about continuing education, I see myself moving into a graduate program that would focus on working with children. I love children and always wanted to be a teacher. Now that I have discovered that I can be an asset to the medical community, furthering my education has helped me discover that working with children is an option that I can obtain through the medical field. I hope some day to work in a pediatrician's office and make children feel comfortable and safe.
- Outside the classroom
I love outdoor activities. I jog about 2 miles a day and participate in 5k's at every opportunity, I enjoy supporting several different causes throughout my community by doing so. Also, I practice yoga daily. Another of my hobbies is reading. I enjoy reading so much that I asked to work with the reading specialist to show children that while reading can sometimes not be fun, I found that I was able to introduce age related books which the children did enjoy and it was such a rewarding experience.

Volunteering

I have been a parent volunteer at my son's school since 2009. I volunteer in the classroom for the teachers and students. I also had the opportunity to work with the reading specialist to work one on one with children who needed a little extra help reading and writing. I have enjoyed chaperoning every field trip along with being in the classroom.
