About
My name is Remington Rimple and I am an undergraduate student attending California State University San Marcos.
Since I was young, the world of science had always captivated my curiosity. I loved spending hours on end learning about animals, the ocean, or space, and still come across new information everyday. The enjoyment that came from learning about the world grew into a passion for wanting to understand the how and why of the world. Although I did not realize it at a young age, my desire to understand the complexity of things would guide me towards my future ambitions as a research scientist. On the journey there, I plan to achieve a Chemistry degree with a Physics minor for goals of studying chemical engineering in graduate school. Having opportunities to participate in research at home and in REU summer programs so early in my academic career have strengthened my aspirations to pursue a career in STEM. They not only helped me gain exposure to different areas of research, but were also opportunities that have motivated, inspired, and challenged me in ways beyond the rigors of the classroom. As I acquire more knowledge with each passing term, I grow more enthusiastic in wanting to continue helping initiatives that promote accessibility to both STEM and “STEAM” education for everyone. Staying involved with outreach programs to encourage science is an important part of my college experience, and will remain so in my future ambitions.
