About

The morning of August 27, 2014 I embarked on a US AIRWAYS no return Flight to Boston from the Rome Fiumicino Airport. One direction: Tufts University. Sailing those 9000 kilometers over the ocean signified leaving behind my mother, my family, my friends, the team of my heart and all the things that have always meant everything to me.I frequently ask myself: Why did I buckle my seatbelt on that Boeing knowing that I was already happy where I was. "To get a degree"?, " To earn a job"?. That belt clicking was when I decided to give a sense to my life. To realize all my dreams. I wasn't going there to study, but to conquer my life. IF YOU WANT - YOU CAN.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I dream to work in the oncology field. I have always been deeply passionate about the scientific concepts behind the development of cancer, and I really strive to perform this job to make myself feel useful to help people who suffer. I want to put all of my studies and knowledge to the availability of patients who need help. The desire to work in this field was greatly exacerbated when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. I spent a lot of time with her (and for this I took a year of leave from college) and closely followed all of her treatments. I was able to see in first hand, the amazing degree with which cures and treatments are improving, and I want to contribute to making them even better.

Graduate school interests

After finishing my Bachelor of Science in Biology at Tufts University, I aim to attend Medical School in the United States. As an alternative route, I would also consider Biochemistry because it would a great opportunity to focus on cancer research and therapy innovation, which are the two areas that interest me the most.

Outside the classroom

1) Languages - I've been passionate about languages my entire life and I intend to keep pursuing this hobby, because I am very interested in communication skills and this allows me to communicate with people with different nationalities from my own, and explore their cultures.
2) Opera and Classical music - My mother is a soprano at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome, Italy and when I am in Rome, I habitually go and listen to her concerts with great enthusiasm. I started listening to music when I was 3 years old, with my favorite piece - Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem.
3) Art - Rome, my hometown, is an open-sky museum and I am extremely fascinated by its 2000 year-old splendors.
4) Technology
5) Bodybuilding
6) Soccer
