About

I am a third year Ph.D. student in the School of Middle Eastern and North African Studies (MENAS) at The University of Arizona. I am concentrating in Linguistics of Middle Eastern Languages and minoring in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, particularly Audiology. Within my Ph.D., I have covered a wide range of coursework ranging from Middle Eastern History to Neurobiology and Linguistics. My research interests lie in the application of linguistics of Middle Eastern languages, particularly Arabic, to clinical audiological practice. I hope that this research will enhance best audiological practices, particularly for culturally and linguistically diverse populations, and help those pursuing a career in audiology both nationally and internationally. I have held an instructor, graduate teaching associate, and tutoring position in various subjects, including Islamic Studies, Middle Eastern History, and Arabic. Currently, I have a cumulative GPA in my major of 4.0 and overall of 3.94.

In addition to my Ph.D., I hold a Bachelor's (B.A.) degree in Religion from Bard College and a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) degree in Modern Foreign Language Education from Boston University. Throughout my education, I have received numerous honors and awards.
Alongside my education and research training in my Ph.D., I have pursued various voluntary work experiences in Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology, and Islamic Studies to better serve my communities. These honors, awards, and voluntary work experiences are detailed further below.
