About
My name is Samuel Cobb, and I am a student at the University of Oklahoma. I have lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma for most of my life, and I hope to become an Internist at one of the hospitals there. Biology and Medicine are my passion, ever since my first days in high school, and I wish to make my love of those subjects into a career. I hope that I can make my parents proud with the achievements that I will find. In high school, I participated in various club activities, but the one that stood out the most for me was the Speech and Debate club. I really felt that the enrichment it provided for me helped me to become more up to date on news and upcoming policies, as well as helping me to understand how to formulate and argument and write speeches. As for work, I worked at a local convenience store throughout my time in high school. I think this job helped me to become the leader that I am now, as it put me in many positions that tested my ability to make decisions and keep a good work ethic. This job was on top of periodic visits to the Clarehouse, a local hospice care institution, for volunteer work. The most important thing that I took from working during high school was the ability to balance many things at the same time, like assignments and a full, 40 hour a week work schedule. I chose to attend OU because it has always been my dream ever since I was a young boy to go there. I heard that their medical program was the best in the state, and that they strive to catalyze academic achievement in any way possible. The community it brings is diverse, connected, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure lasting bonds, which makes the college my number one choice in choosing where I will start my academic journey. My number one value in the world is empathy, and that is one of the reasons I am choosing to work in the medical field. At times, when I do go to the doctor, I feel that the field lacks understanding and care that it really needs to have. Most of the time, I get shuffled through, as if the professionals just want the next patient to come in. I hope that my future will allow me to create a feeling of care and compassion in the medical field, so that others will not feel the same way that I did.

- Graduate school interests
I plan on going to Medical School after I receive my bachelors degree.
- Outside the classroom
I enjoy many things, ranging from more typical hobbies to stranger ones. My number one activity is keeping up with esports events, which has become an interest of mine over the years. Next, it would have to sporting events, most notably Cricket, which has become my favorite sport since joining the Cricket Club at my high school. I enjoy solving Rubiks Cubes, especially the more complex and difficult ones.
