About

Hello,
My name is Sanjuana Abigail Calderilla Ledezma but I prefer to go by my middle name and shorten it for Abi. I have been at WSUV for 2 whole years and this fall of 2021 has been the beginning of my 3rd. I am very excited and have recently uploaded my major to Human Development with a focus in Human Services, added in a Case Management Certificate and will also be working on a Psychology minor.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I did not come across human development until later in my freshman year of college. The idea of learning about humans, our reactions, our actions, traumas and all of that really interested me. My main interest is infancy and toddlerhood but of course I could expand to teens and adolescents. The main job path I am interested in is social work followed along with child therapist and also working in an environment with foster kids. Im still not sure about what job positions interest me the most, but I surely want to keep children safe from others and from themselves as well as providing the right information to families who don't have the support.

Graduate school interests

Not sure yet.

Outside the classroom

I recently enjoy my time baking and organizing my home space. I am a big fan of music and also love cooking new meals when I have the chance to do so. Caring for my siblings and our pets is also one of my favorite things since I love taking longs walks, playing fetch and taking my younger brothers or older sister out for lunch or dinner.

  • Cashier/Barista

Taking my customer service skills to a whole different environment and providing everyone with a positive attitude, I took on a job at The Logs inn where I mostly took orders, made drinks and took payments. Working at the bar, I gained new knowledge about wines, beer, mixed drinks and much more. Not only that, but my customer service has improved since then and I am more comfortable in a loud and crazy environment than I was before.

  • Waitress

I decided to take on a job at a local Mexican restaurant but had both good and bad experiences in the work environment. I took on being a waitress and other small jobs such as restocking, making drinks, and cleaning a lot. This job made me feel very out of place and although that was happening, that did not stop me from getting good reviews from the customers and a few of my coworkers.
