About
I am a sophomore at the University of Colorado Boulder. I recently changed my major to Integrate Physiology and Education. I enjoy learning about how our bodes work and why the work the way they do. It has been difficult transitioning to college classes due to the large number of students and the difficulty of student teacher contact. In high school I was a straight A student and I was involved in every kind of club you could imagine. When I got to college I was not scared of working hard but I found difficulty paying attention to lecture after lecture with minimal discussion. I have been working on finding different techniques to improve my learning and I believe I have started to find my "grove" so to say. To be completely honest I am ashamed of my GPA and there have been many nights where I have thought, "where did it all go wrong?" I know I can do better and I know I will but for the first time in my life I have no choice but to accept and learn from my past.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
From the time I can remember I have always been an inquirer. I remember pone of the first times I cut my finger asking my dad why it way bleeding and why a few minuets later out had stopped. My dad is an ER doctor and he always told the truth even if I didn't understand. I believe this is where I became interested in the human body. Additionally while I was growing up I always wanted to share my knowledge with my younger brother. I loved to teach him all the things I learned and when I got older I loved to leach all my friends as well. While studying Integrate Physiology and Education simultaneously I hope to create two avenues for my professional career. I hope to become a Physical Therapist specializing in adolescents. If I cannot make it into PT school I have been student teaching and am working on getting my teaching certificate so I will be able to teach elementary and middle school science when I graduate.
- Graduate school interests
As stated above I hope to attend Physical Therapy School.
- Outside the classroom
In addition to school work I am an avid triathlete. I am on the University of Colorado Triathlon team. Last year I went to nationals and competed in the olympic and mixed team relay. I placed 19th overall in the olympic and our team placed 1st in the mixed team relay. Triathlon is important to me because it provides structure to my life when I feel like I am grasping for straws. I enjoy working hard and seeing how much I can improve.
I grew up in Arlee Montana on a farm. Despite my shinny road bike and my colorful running shoes I do enjoy a long horseback ride in the mountains. I used to race horses with my mom but there came a point in time where it was too difficult to be a triathlete and a competitive junior horse racer. I chose to do triathlon but my love for horses has never faded.
