About
My name is Sharda Smith, I am 28 years old, I am a senior at Western Michigan University studying Psychology and Social Work in order to move further along a career path of Youth and Adult Personal and Academic Development. I am planning to work with the low income (at risk) populations. I am a volunteer tutor, teaching literacy to both children, teens as well as adults in my spare time. I am a mother of two, a full time student as well as a full time employee.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I intend to work in the field of Youth and Adult Development. I will be serving the population of people deemed "At Risk" due to either low income issues, educational set backs or single family households or being part of the minority community. I will help assist with the gaining of life skills in financial management and banking, reading for basic life functioning, as well as personal growth goals.
- Graduate school interests
I am Interested in remaining at Western Michigan University for grad school but I am not sure if that will be my final choice.
- Outside the classroom
I enjoy spending time with my family, I have two young daughters that I am head over heels for, I enjoy being outside, reading and writing poetry. I love to draw when I get the chance as well as exercise when the time allows. I am a volunteer literacy tutor to both adults and children as well as a literacy advocate.
