Shaun Kelly

Shaun Joseph A. Kelly, C.M., ACE, IACE, NREMT

I am the Assistant Airport Director for the Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport in Texas. I started his airport career in 2013 having worked airports for the City of Vicksburg, Jackson Municipal Airport Authority, Mohave County Airport Authority, and the Peninsula Airport Commission. I am also owner of Southern Aviation Consulting, L.L.C. I have previously worked in various staff and management positions with Aero Supplies & Express, Inc. National Intercollegiate Flying Association, Inc. (NIFA), and Gas Masters of America, Inc.

I earned my B.S. in Aviation Business Administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL. I also have an A.A. in Political & Economics from Daytona Beach Community College in Daytona Beach, FL. I will graduate in the fall of this year with his Masters in Commercial Aviation from Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. I am an active member of AAAE participating in several working groups. I am a Certified Member (C.M.) and Airport Certified Employee (ACE) in Airport Operations. I is also an International Aerodrome Certified Employee from IAAE. I was most recently a part of the Southeast Chapter of AAAE’s Emerging Leaders Program and serves on the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee and 2022 Conference Planning Committee. I am also a National Registered Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT).

I am a native of Virginia. I am a 25-year member of the Civil Air Patrol, the United States Air Force Auxiliary. I stared as a Cadet and currently hold the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. I most recently served as the Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Aerospace Education for the Mid-Atlantic Region, Assistant Director of Aerospace Education for the Virginia Wing, and Deputy Commander for the Virginia Wing Group 2. I was awarded the Gill Robb Wilson Award, Air Force Organizational Excellence Award, 2 Exceptional Service Awards, 2 Meritorious Service Awards, and 6 Commanders Commendations. I also volunteer with the NIFA serving as a Senior Judge, FAA Safety Team as a FAASTeam Representative, and Delta Lambda Phi Social Fraternity as an Alumni Brother.
