About
My name is Sherlene Brown and I was born and raised in the small yet vibrant parish of Portland, Jamaica. Cared for by a family of six I was raised and taught to acknowledge life as it comes, to never back down from days’ challenges and to embrace each day as if it is your last. Currently, I am a third-year graduate student at Purdue University where I am pursuing a doctoral degree in Biochemistry. Throughout my academic career, I have been actively involved in all things science-related. Some of which includes an honor student for the Alice Carson Tisdale Honors college, UNCF scholar, PepsiCo student ambassador and American Chemical Society (ACS) Secretary. I have also participated as summer scholar at Novartis Institute of Biomedical Research (NIBR) in Cambridge where I focus on Protein therapeutics. My goal is to become biomedical researcher whose tenacity, reasoning and excellence have a direct impact on people’s lives as well as lead in environmental development and sustainability.
