Introduction:
My name is Sherri FitzSimons, and I am deeply passionate about Computer Science and Engineering. My academic journey, achievements, and awards reflect my decision to pursue this field and my ambition to pioneer life-transformational Computational Neuroscience technology. As a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Honor Society, I have maintained a stellar 4.0 GPA while actively participating in volunteer work to bring positive change to Reno Nevada’s underprivileged adult and youth community.

Academic Pursuits:
Throughout my academic journey, I have strived to excel in the realm of Information Technology. My experience as the Entitlement and Licensing Manager at Cisco Systems honed my skills as an IT leader and introduced me to the world of Six Sigma and 5S methodologies. During my tenure I obtained certification in A+ and Networking+, further enriching my knowledge base. Additionally, my passion for technology led me to delve into graphics and web design, gaining expertise in various software programs such as Microsoft Office Tools, Adobe, Google Analytics, SEO, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C#, SQL, HP Prints, Titan, Shepard, Visio, Visual Studio, Neatbeans, CodePEN, Sublime, DOS, and AS400.

In my pursuit of continuous growth and learning, I embarked on the FastTrack Full Stack Developer program at TMCC in 2022. This intensive program has been a transformative experience, expanding my knowledge in computer programming. I am proud to share that I am on track to graduate from TMCC with an AAS in Computer Science in 2024, maintaining a consistent 4.0 GPA throughout.
Alignment of Studies with Personal and Professional Goals:

My career aspirations align harmoniously with my passion for technology and my dedication to making positive impact on society. I envision myself playing a pivotal role in the development of cutting-edge Computational Neuroscience technology. Computational Neuroscience is the structure or framework that aids in researching and studying brain function. This foundation is then built upon with simulations and inducing brain wave activity to produce a desired result such as with electric prosthetics. Electric prosthetics are powered through computer algorithms using electric signals to create movement in the body. Computational Neuroscience holds immense potential for life altering transformations.

Further, my involvement in volunteer work, aiding Reno’s underprivileged adult and youth, reflects my commitment to giving back and making a difference. Ethics and moral values, such as honesty, fairness, courtesy, and humility, are deeply ingrained in my core, driving my desire to utilize technology for the greater good.

Professional Experience:
My professional experience as an Expansion Room Production Lead at Zazzle Inc. has honed my leadership skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in cross-functional teams. My responsibilities include managing workplace safety and ensuring adherence to PPE requirements. Additionally, I operate various industry-specific machines and manage Fetch Robotics, Polar Mohar, Matrix, Atom Press, and other expansion room machinery. My experience in interacting with diverse clients and employees from different industries will undoubtedly be valuable in the Computational Neuroscience field.

In conclusion, my journey in Computer Science and Engineering has been one of dedication, excellence, and continuous growth. I am driven by my aspiration to contribute to the development of life-transforming Computational Neuroscience technology. Overall, my achievements to date form a solid foundation that aligns perfectly with my life goals. They demonstrate my determination, dedication, and passion for technology and its potential to change lives positively. As I continue to grow academically and professionally, I am confident that my achievements will propel me closer to my ultimate objective of contributing to the pioneering advancements in Computational Neuroscience technology. With the support of this scholarship, I can further hone my skills, broaden my knowledge, and embark on a transformative journey that will allow me to make a lasting impact on society and bring my aspirations to fruition.
