About
I am a Marine Corp veteran with a background in helicopter maintenance. I am a first-generation college student. I am an engineering major and second-year college student. One of my short-term goals is to transfer into the Environmental Engineering program at the Georgia Institute of Technology. One of my long-term goals is to get a Master's degree in that field through Georgia Tech's dual degree program. Utlimately, I hope to have my own environmental consulting business. I want to be an environmental engineering because there is not enough representation in the field for people of color. People of color are disproportionately affected by pollution and other environmental issues i.e., factories with harmful affects on the environment are likely to be built in predominantly Black communities. I want to be the voice of the voiceless; I want to be able influene those decisions to protect the interests and safety of people who look like me.
