About
My education Journey started 2 years ago (Spring 2014). My dedication to school allowed me to be acknowledged on the Dean’s List all three semesters I attended. I was inducted into the honor society (Fall 2014) Phi Theta Kappa. I graduated from Coastal Bend College with my Associate in Arts degree with highest honors. As a member of Phi Theta Kappa, I strive to maintain a high grade point average. The next step led me to my acceptance at Texas A&M University. As a junior, I have exemplified the same academic behavior and was included on the (Fall 2015) President’s list. I am currently working towards my Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies Teacher Education (Early child- Grade 6 Generalist). My goal is to become a teacher in 2nd or 3rd grade.
I am a stay at home mom of 2 kids, Colt (4 years old) and Brooke (2 years old). They are the inspiration that led me to the path of obtaining a teaching degree. I enjoy working with them as they develop their curious minds. Every day is a learning experience for both them and myself. Obtaining a scholarship is a reassurance I am presenting the best of the best when applying my abilities. The additional aid from a scholarship would be a great deal of help to financing my completion here at TAMUK. In short my academic career has been a journey but, one I strive to succeed with the best possible outcomes

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I am currently enrolled in the B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies: EC-6 Generalist. I have completed the Block 1 of my education component. In the next year, the Program I am enrolled in at Texas A&M University will require me to field research within a school district as my studies at TAMUK continue. My observations will lead into my final semester or Block 4 interning within a school district. Together with the hands on experience paired with the academic courses, I hope to gain the confidence and knowledge needed to become an elementary teacher.
