Steffany Stammen

I am currently attending Wright State University Lake Campus and studying bachelor of science in nursing. I currently have a job at Mercer Health Hospital as a Nurse Assistant. This job is giving me the opportunity to be exposed to the medical field, so I know what to expect when I actually become a nurse. I enjoy this job because I can get the one-on-one connection with my patients. After I get the connections, I can be myself around the patient as in making them laugh and joke with them while they have to be in the hospital. Last semester I was part of the National Society of Leadership and Success Club where I learned how to become a better leader with my peers, in my community, and in my job. Throughout high school, I was in FFA for all four years, which I held an office two of those four years as the historian and vice president. This club has helped me with leadership because of all of the competitions I competed in throughout my years. I also was in 4-H for six years and held an office for 3 of those six years. I was the secretary, vice president, then president. I lead the club my senior year in high school. Our 4-H club is the largest in our county, so it felt special to me to lead that amazing group. My extracurricular activities include playing piano for mass at the Maria Stein Relic Shrine, and playing organ for mass at St. Aloysius and St. Bernard Catholic Churches. I have played piano since I was four years old, and I have played organ since I was eleven. I have played organ for around eleven weddings.
