About

My name is Tanae Montoya, I am a student at University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), and my major is in communication. Born and raised in California, I moved around over the years. I moved to Louisiana in 2008 for my last two years of high school. In 2010, I moved to Fort Hood, Texas and graduated from Central Texas College in 2013. In 2014, I moved back to California and took time to decide where to continue my education. In the fall of 2015, I moved to San Antonio, where I will finish my bachelor's degree in 2017. Some of my goals I want to achieve are: improving my artwork in all forms, speaking well in Spanish, Korean, and Japanese, travel to different countries to learn about their culture, and owning a business that will help other artists in promoting their work.

Goals and interests

Career goal

My intended job path is special effects make-up. However, I keep my options open because I am an artist in traditional and digital works. The other job I would like to have is producing concept art for gaming companies.

Graduate school interests

I have not decided which grad school to attend because I do not know where I will be in the next year. I am considering a grad school in Texas but I am keeping my options open.

Outside the classroom

I am an artist so most of my hobbies are drawing, creating special effects make-up, writing stories, and editing videos. Other than producing art, I love learning about different cultures as well as learning the languages. I collect shells and rocks, which I like to find out what kind of creature it was and what kind of rock I collect. I enjoy reading my old textbooks such as sociology, psychology, communications, and astronomy. Some of them I use for reference for a few of my original stories. I hope to use some of my hobbies for my future profession(s).
